THE ALTAR OF ART
Related to country: Kenya

Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Thoughts from the dead silent night.
You cam at my window; poising like a model.
Your eyes scares; big and shining green light.
Flapping as a June bug; on the minds panels.
Me! A young lad, sit on a creaky chair as in flight.
In a self caged mind, with a bulb glaring lonely.
Amazed at your persistence quiver, to be let in.

I shout wishing you were gone to drain.
And fall back to my lazy illusions and dreams.
So agile you dance; like a sycophant on meadow.
Flossing magic colors as on an auditorium showdown.
I opened my heart; to bargain for your offer.
Flood in like a torch beam; taking over in stride.
A dawning realization; you talk jiggling like coppers.

Glinting like cellophane; in a rhythm of impeccable plight.
Then like a flickering candle on a windy desert.
You are gone as you came; into the ghostly night.
Left a web of encryption; ways of hidden treasures.
I sworn to sacrifice your image; on the altar of art.

Doodling like a scalloping eagle; poems of my visions.
Seeking refuge under breasts of they mighty kingdom.
Lost in a maze of dream land; trudging every four seasons.
When imaginations cluster with memories for wisdom.
Softly whispering; the voices of uncelebrated passion.
On the Altar of Poetry; I perish with own reasons.

AFRICAN LASS
Related to country: Kenya

Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Silent breeze sweep over blue sky vast.
Sea waves rock from a distance in a hearty dance.
On miles of sandy shores; a man walk in haste.
Calling for an African daughter; carried away by waves.
Over the seas rocking boat; with pads of passion.
Whisperings a sweet name to the monsoon winds.

Soul scarred in vast deserted loneliness.
He weep to miss magi touch of loveliness.
Wishing for wings to fly near
Almond eyes watered looks inside a lone heart.
Tears imbue soul for precious time now hurts.

World is quite; no more melodious laughter.
Neither the plumbing sensation of nature’s violin strings.
Nor half moon smile of an African lass.
Memories embalmed in heart since that day of spring.
Visions and hopes lives on in fading twilights.

CRY FOR OUR BELOVED KENYA.
Related to country: Kenya

Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

As mountains gleam in lush green dawn.
Under bronze Sunshine; listen to rivers flow.
Your name embroiled in a peaceful lawn.
My crumbling faith recovers; from fit blows.
Words tumble in cold prints of memory drawn.
Recording your fame; language of twisted dream.

Kenya ! The humblest pride of Dark Continent .
Who thou art bestowing on us; Our Motherland.
Remember when we marveled at thou calmness.
And danced to nature’s music of calm souls.
Quivering in one rhythm; dancing with our hearts.
And joined hands; brows sweating brown.
Bending as bow; in a willful toil.

Today venturing into now impersonal cities.
Mothers wails; lamenting destroyed creation.
Among debris children’s sobs; lost and orphaned.
Lots of youths turning lost youths; it’s painful.
Brothers hunting other selves; strikes and leave to die.
Clenching wet brown soil; yet sworn forgiveness.

What happened then? That we fight our blood.
Blinded as bat; galloping like wild horses.
Stomping on innocent backs; betting on lives.
Irked with heart refusal, I seek harmony from Above.
Lord! We need you now more than ever.

When Love goes out of gears,
I’m urged to cry on bend- ed knees.
Where on thou Mountains is our Citadel?
What clock shall register our walled patience?
Or which caroling dawn will ripen our hopes.

Like birds hoisting for freedom,
I fly out on vast blueness; chirping music of peace.
Afar beyond skyline; preaching unity and harmony.
In a joy of a dawning new start; reconciliation.
And contemplate on a lone commandment.
“Thou shall Love your Neighbors as Yourself.”

May Peace Reign in My Beloved Country Kenya .

FOREVER KENYA
Related to country: Kenya

Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Over Mt Kenya; sunrise warm chill morning dawn.
Skylarks flying with broken wings; chirping sad music.
Down the valleys; cries evoke usual quite dawn.
A whole village rise to mourn; innocent terror mystic.
Shaking heads in indolence disbelief; like unreal dreams.
Men cry brave tears; sad tales of doom.

Misleader eloquently preach water drinking wine.
Drawing thick line apart and around themselves.
Then bounders among brothers of deed and in need.
When smoke blew down the valleys of shanties.
They took refuge in grandiose secured palaces.
Sleeping in ignorant bliss; drunk with power stupor.
Between two make a clear comparison.

It could have been just marvels of creation.
Being Nilotes, Cushites or Bantus.
Tall or short, black and brown, all as one.
Our image in a mirror. Branches on one tree.
Above all we are of same tribe; Kenyans.

I gazed this sunny morning.
Thinking as a young boy; the intangible dreams.
Wishing armors were farming tools.
Toiling and molding our fertile green earth.
Singing our own songs; working till sun down.
Shaking hands in generous humanity.

Walking down by the riverside at dusk.
Listening to humming bees; birds singing in glee.
Whispering a prayer and Litanies of Love.
“Blessed be Kenya! May Peace be upon you.”
Then wait for glorious day; when all shall unite.
Armed with grace; building what we but dream.

Forever Kenya! Forever Kenyans.
